Legal Settlement Deadline
Under Kuwait Labor Law, employers must pay all end-of-service entitlements — including indemnity under Article 51, outstanding salary, and unused annual leave under Article 70 — within 15 days from the contract end date.
Some sources cite 7 days for indemnity specifically; in practice, the full final settlement (indemnity + leave + dues) should be completed within 15 days to avoid labor disputes.
What Is Included in Final Settlement?
- End-of-service indemnity (Article 51)
- Unused annual leave payment (Article 70)
- Outstanding salary and approved allowances
- Less any lawful deductions (loans, advances per contract)
If Your Employer Delays Payment
- Request a written settlement breakdown from HR.
- File a complaint with the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) at manpower.gov.kw.
- Bring your contract, payslips, and resignation/termination letter.
- Consider legal counsel for amounts above dispute thresholds.
