Indemnity Calculation for 10 Years in Kuwait

Ten years is the milestone where voluntary resignation finally matches termination — you keep 100% of your calculated indemnity. Below is how the days add up and what that means in dinars on a typical Kuwait salary.

10-YEAR FORMULA

How many indemnity days after 10 years?

First 5 years: 5 × 15 = 75 days

Next 5 years: 5 × 30 = 150 days

Total: 225 indemnity days

Payout = 225 × (Monthly Salary ÷ 26)

Why 10 years changes resignation rights

Between 5 and 10 years, resigning costs you one-third of your indemnity (you only get 66.67%). At exactly 10 years, that penalty disappears. Many long-term expats in Kuwait time their resignation for the day they cross 10 years — especially when the gap between 9 years 11 months and 10 years can mean thousands of dinars.

Compare with 5 years of service

At 5 years you only have 75 indemnity days. At 10 years you have triple that accrual in the second bracket alone. See indemnity calculation for 5 years in Kuwait for the earlier milestone.
